AN OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE ACHIEVMENT
The Award Ceremony Christmas Party is a festive evening filled with celebration and unforgettable moments. Mark your calendars and get ready to celebrate your dancers achievements at The Park View Suite, Drayton Manor!
We also operate our own achievement recognition scheme that rewards students for exemplary conduct and high achievement. A trophy is awarded to the student that achieves the highest mark within each subject, regardless of the grade for which they are entered.
Please note that trophy holders will be announced at the end of the ceremony and are required to attend the ceremony in order to obtain their trophy.

When your child's name is called, they will be asked to enter the stage and collect their awards. Parents will have opportunity to applaud while they are taking their curtseys and bows! Then, family and friends can walk up to the stage front and take photographs. If you would like a photograph with your child's teacher, just ask.
As the children exit the stage, they will be asked to stand in front of the backdrop. They will then have their official awards photograph taken by Kate Frost Photography. The images are then uploaded to the members area of our website where you can download them.
The fee for Official Award Photographs is covered in your ticket price.
THE IDTA THEATRE DANCE AWARDS
Candidates are initially nominated by the Association’s Examiners when taking the higher Grades or Performers examinations through a qualified teacher. Eight awards are granted in Ballet, Theatre Craft, Tap, and Modern Jazz at higher Grade and Performers level. Over 500 candidates out of more than 7,500 are nominated each year for these awards and those who are successful are awarded a trophy and a cheque to further their dance career. Certificates are awarded to every nominee and the teachers of the winners.
Penelope's have had a number of candidates nominated for the Awards.
A full list will be uploaded to this page shortly.

FAQS
AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS?
Of course! We do have a professional photographer taking the official photographs once your child has been awarded but please feel free to take your own photographs from the stage front.
WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?
The Awards Ceremony is a very special evening designed to celebrate the students' achievements. So we ask family and friends to follow a 'Black & White Night' smart dress code. Children are invited to wear 'Party Frocks' or Bridesmaid-style dresses. As for the boys, a smart suit is definitely welcomed!
CAN I BRING FOOD?
Please do!
Food is not provided on the day, so you are invited to bring your own.
IS THERE A BAR?
There is a fully licensed bar at the Park View Suite.
